I was looking for the address of a software maker the other day and it got me thinking about some of the great places there are for a graphic designer to learn about the trade and work in 2018.
With all of the pivotal changes I’ve witnessed in our industry over the last forty-plus years, I’ll tell you this, the prestige of our craft continues to grow—and our influence on society as a whole has never been greater. Today, a talented designer has the potential to become a part of some extraordinarily interesting and exciting organizations—using a bag of tools, tricks, and hardware that were simply unimaginable a few short decades ago.
But because these places are all about branding, it’s easy to start thinking of them as something other than places on a map with walls and desks. It’s important to remember each has its own culture and sense of place. Each has real needs and requirements—almost all are actively looking for recruits.
